I thought it was more of a geeky fan-fiction tantrum against T2's happy
ending--
By the end, it felt as if James Cameron had been *sent to his room* by
the core fanboys:
"Now, now, let's hear no more about that peaceful 'No fate but what we
make' nonsense, young man!...You just march right down to your bomb
shelter and *stay* there, while we get the really kewl
robots-shooting-each-other stuff started, just like we all wanted to in
the second movie...'Senator John Connor' indeed, hmph!"
