book/website advice for enthusiastic amateur.

I do extensive DV filming on adventure holidays. I usually come home with ~3
hrs of raw film. I use Premiere & Encore to make a holiday DVD lasting about
30-40 minutes. (A week at a beach doesn't make good films) I make 1 or 2
films a year.

Over the years I have (self taught) learnt something about how to tell a
story and how clip lengths and choice of music sets the mood/tone of the
film. I rarely use transitions (except for cross dissolve), as they most
often just add some serious amateur look.

I feel to have hit a wall when it comes to making better films. I have run
out of ideas and need some expert advice. Here
http://videoexpert.home.att.net/artic1/248angle.htm I found some info about
interesting camera angles which I will try out. More advice like this and
interesting ideas on how to edit is what I am looking for.

When I read synopsis of books, they seem to come in two categories: 1) How
to make a professional film, where you have full control of the scene and
lighting. My films a holiday film, where this is obviously not the case. 2)
Books teaching how to use various software programs. I don't need advice on
how to drop a transition onto the timeline.

Long story to describe what I am looking for.

Any ideas or pointers anyone?
