My Sony DAV-S400 DVD player, combined with a 5-1 surround sound system, is
having problems playing the DVD's I am producing on my LG burner. It also
has the same problem playing a commercial DVD (Buffy series 1 disk 3). I do
think the problem is with the Sony Player, as the disks I am producing do
play ok in my sons DVD and the Buffy disc, plays OK in my PC.
The problem is the disc spins up stalls spins up stalls etc etc, and then
reports dirty disc, error 4.
Some of the discs do sometimes get going and once the menu bit has run, the
various episodes I have recorded do play.
Accepting the DVD part of the player is faulty, and wanting a DVD recorder
anyway, I am loath to throw away the 5-1 sound from the DVD player so I am
looking for a DVD with the following spec.
Plays DVD -R
Has an audio output I can connect to the Sony to play 5-1 sound.
Time slip recording
Has anybody any recommendations for a suitable recorder, or any suggestions
on the Sony's fault.
