Ok, here comes one more moderate user weighing in on the topic:
Since your entire Netflix rental history is available, I took a look
at my 21 month history. Typical months rentals were between 9 and 12
movies with one 13, 14, and 15. However I have always keep those titles
listed with even a short wait, at the end of the queue until they are
available.
Now, I have detected what seems to be a slow down in the past 2 months.
With some friends, we are screening a large number of titles for a film
festival, and as I have tried to increase the rental rate, it seems to
have actually slowed a bit. It may be that I am being throttled, but it
could be the opposite side of wanting the latest releases. All are
recent years (2001 - 2005), but rather unknown titles, so although
allegedly available, it might be that Netflix has only a few copies on
hand.
