That's old news, and is no longer correct.
For an up to date idea of what the score now is,
visit www.minidisc.org and read recent postings (via Google Groups)
in < alt.audio.minidisc > for how recent versions of Sonicstage have
removed the copy protection nonsense.
If you do purchase a Hi-MD Minidisc, it'll likely come with the older
software - so you'll need to download the latest, SS3.2 or later.
