Check and update the Liteon's firmware. There are various utilities that
can tell you the firmware version (e.g. Nero). Flashing the firmware is
are fairly simple operation - just follow the instructions from the
website - www.liteonit.com
When I updated the firmware on my new drive (same model as yours) its
"maximum speed" went from 4x to 8x.
