Give it a try at 4x. I have the LiteOn 832S, and had trouble with HP
DVD's. My first stack of 50 worked fine at 8x, but the second stack had
about a 75% failure rate if burned over 4x. Looking at the recorded side
of the disc, you could actually see the a ring about 1/2 way out where the
burn failed. I burned the rest at 4X and didn't have any problems.
