I had a similar problem with my SONY drive and contacted Dell Help. They
instructed me to go to Device Manager and then uninstall the driver for this
drive. Dont ask me how I got there, because I forgot.
Then I rebooted and this automatically re-installed the now missing driver.
After this I had no more problems (so far).
