OK, I give. I have been pulling my hair out to make this work. I hope
someone has some tips.
I am shooting footage with a Sony Z1U with a Sennheiser 418S. I cannot
figure out how to get the audio into my G5 and set it up. The 418 is a
stereo mic that works only when you bring the L and R channels through
a mixer; duplicate the L into two faders; Rev phase on one and pan them
full R and L, the original R input is then set center. This gives full
post-production control of the stereo audio image using these three
faders.
This was no problem when I was editing on the AVID and sending the
audio through a Yamaha mixer. But, now I'm on a Mac with FCP HD and the
image and video goes in via Fire Wire. I have a Sony HDV deck, but that
chages nothing.
Within FC, how do you duplicate an audio channel and reverse phase on
it? This is the only way to make the audio sound correct after shooting
everything for the past 6 months with the 418S. If you've got some
hints, thanks. I am new (about 2 months) using FCP
