The signal from the satellite is already compressed, so by
"uncompressed" do you mean "no additional compression"?

Dunno that anyone can answer this a a generic question.
Likely depends on what hardware/software you are using,
and the compression parameters of the particular channel.

Some channels are more compressed than others. I don't
remember telling them which are my favorite channels, but
they seem to know which ones to compress the heck out
of. Unfortunately, they don't seem to accept proportionally
compressed payments in exchange. :-(

Highly unlikely. By "raw AVI" we assume you mean DV-AVI
(as from a mini-DV camcorder. etc.) The data coming down
from the satellite is more likely MPEG of some kind.

Assuming you mean a small (18-inch) dish, yes.

As a percentage of what?
