until the broadcast industry catches up with the HDV standard of sizing,
what's the use? most stations aren't capable of broadcasting in such
resolution lines anyways. in fact, due to the fact that the industry never
met the 1/1/2006 deadline of HD, at the urging of the FCC (because they
would have to shut over 80% of the stations down because they weren't
meeting specs, the President signed the order to extend the deadline to
2009. and everyone thought that digital was a sure thing. right now the
airways are jammed with digital, analog, and HD transmissions, let alone 5
forms of audio and thus, a channel 29 tv station for example is thusly
broadcasting 8 different broadcasts in order to make it so that their
compliant with their respective network AND with the FCC . . AND with their
local viewers. what a mess. i've worked with 11 stations locally and not
one has a clue where they will be a year from now other than they're going
to try to stop running all the transmitters and try to eliminate "something"
as they put it, but what that something is . . .they haven't a clue! :o)
