Hope this is not the case with either the Denon 1920 or the new Pioneers
(when they appear)

Yep, the HDMI meassage is a pain, along with the remote too. I recall my
Sammy 709 and 807 having better remotes. Not sure If i will be able to keep
it for as long as the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray thing with these niggles.
Just to add I went to Tottenham Court Rd few weeks ago to look for the Denon
but only found 1 shop with "Denon" gear in it and they never had the 1920
but did have an 800 model (8920 ??) Almost all the shops simply seemed to
stock - Pioneer / Panasonic / Sony / Sharp. Shame really as they could have
made a sale.
