Thanks for the review. I'm sure I will see it (and possibly/probably enjoy
it) in time, but its limited release (around here at least) and the
long-list of upcoming films I'm looking foward to, means it has probably
missed my cinema-going moolah.
Call me old-fashioned, but the sight of two men french-kissing _is_ a
turn-off for me in a fairly big way. I must be gay or an unevolved ape.
By all means, they have every right to share that moment together, but it's
not really a pull-in factor for me. That wouldn't stop me from watching the
movie of course.
Yes I _would_ ask the same question(s) if it was about a black man and a
white woman, a catholic and protestant or a Capulet and Montague... if that
was the only reason being circulated for watching the film.
As I said before, the whole gay cowboy is/was just about the only "selling
point" that I could find anywhere once the movie was released. Before that I
had heard other positive views on it.
....And nobody here suggested not seeing it for fear of gay-molestation. If
you read that, you should re-read what was written.
Changing the subject a little, aren't there a _lot_ of (what seem to be)
really good quality films coming already/real-soon...
Capote
Three Burials of .... <whatever the name is> Melquides (...Tommy Lee Jones)
V for Vendetta (read the comic ages ago, thought it was 'ok', but looking
forward to the film anyway)
The Proposition
Goodnight and Good Luck
Syriana
Mirrormask (maybe)
I can't remember a better upcoming list. I hope they all get proper
distribution...
The New World is another film I was dying to see, but failed due to limited
release (it played in one dingey cinema here for 1 week). :(
