At one time People booking bands and weddings preferred a video
from a real gig taped with a single camera with the on camera mic.

If the band was loud, then the tape would be distorted. Such a tape
shows how well the band was able to adapt to the room, and how
the band interacted with the audience.

If the band interfaces with the audience poorly, that won't be good

If the band is loud, it will be hard for the waitresses to take orders
Many people go out (especially weddings) to have a good time with
their friends, which sometimes involves talking. If the band is too
loud, then they will leave to go somewhere that they can talk easily.

This is all very important to wedding folk, and to clubs. If they
can't sell drinks, or their customers leave early, they sell less drinks.
After all that is what they are in business to do.

A tape that is well edited, with a great recording from a studio
environment, or even a well recorded live performance tells a
club owner or wedding booker absolutely nothing of use to them.

Of course it will look like shit, and sound about the same, but a
simple recording will tell people what they need to know.

A demo to impress your friends is a different story.
