This post prompted me to download Limewiere just to see what it was
like. I hope some of you all remember me from this board -- do a
search, I used to be a big WinMX supporter. I did, though, find
Limewire useful -- and it's not just a bunch of teens trading trendy
stuff, there is a back catalog. In fact, I found something I had been
looking for since 2000 (it's long out of print).
The program is not as sophisticated as WinMX. It's kind of clunky,
like Moprheus. But it does work and there are more people than you
think using it. Also, even though I'm computer-literate, I was never
able to solve the WinMX firewall issues to my satisfaction (after the
Sept. shutdown).
I'm not encouraging peoiple to give up on WinMX, but if you give
Limewire a try, you may be surprised.
