Apologies if this is a too-simple question. (not too simple for me, and
that's why I'm asking here!)
I want to give some DVDs to a friend who works in Brazil, but who
doesn't have a TV. She does have a DVD player on her computer. She is
European (Hungarian), works for a German company in Brazil. She's in
Brazil for two years, so she'll be needing lots of movies to watch.
Question: what region of DVDs should I be looking for?
Are DVD players in (recent) computers region-specific? Her computer is
likely to be German-configured (Region 2), although she is now living
and working in Brazil (Region 4).
Since I live in the US, the DVDs I'm likely to find here (movies I
like and want to give to her) are likely to be Region 1.
Any ideas?
First thing, I guess, is to ask her to find out what region her
computer-dvd-drive works on. How would one determine that? Then, if
the dvd-drive is not "region 0", what is a good source for non-region 1
discs?
