Considering the nature and power of the adversary, I must disagree.

Regarding this nature, I shall excerpt from a work I shall not name
here that seems positively prophetic in light of this crisis the world
faces, despite having been written not only before the RIAA, but before
the Statute of Anne was a twinkle in the eye of the world's first IP
lawyer hundreds of years ago. (This means the work is public domain.
Even were it not so, this excerpting would constitute "fair use" or
"fair dealing" under the relevant statutes in most mildly-insane
jurisdictions, and the seriously-insane ones can go to hell, including,
but not limited to, China.)

Regarding artists who sign contracts with the big labels:
"They will not be able to buy or sell without bearing the Mark of the
Beast, or the name of the Beast, or the number of his name. Let he who
have wisdom know that this number is six hundred three score and
six..."

This has come to pass. Sign up or be doomed to obscurity and low album
sales. However:

"Those who bear not the mark of the Beast will be saved. But to those
that have, heed thus: ye will reap woe and untold suffering" or words
to that effect.
When the principle method of music delivery is BitTorrent (i.e. now)
and the principle revenue model is something other than pay-per-copy
(not yet), it's the ones who signed the exclusive recording industry
contracts that will be in trouble, since their sales will decline like
crazy while they are locked into a decades-long contract that prohibits
alternative distribution channels.

"I saw the Beast suffer a seemingly mortal wound, as one of its heads
was chopped off" etc. -- "A great beast with seven heads and ten crowns
upon them" -- from

(Look ma! It's fair use!):

1994 - Global Big 6 control $30 billion record industry: Philips (owns
Polygram, A&M, Mercury, Island), Sony (owns CBS Records), Matsushita
(owns MCA, Geffen), Thorn-EMI (owns Capitol, Virgin), Time Warner, and
Bertelsmann (owns RCA Records)

This is down from seven -- I think Polygram had just merged into
Philips after owning a big chunk of the pie separately earlier in the
decade -- but the record industry will have tottered on for at least an
additional 12 years by now.

The meaning here is clear, especially when you consider that the
industry is down to four big players now. The end is nigh. Long live
p2p!
