I've got the Liteon 5026. same as the 5045 but an 80Gb HDD. more than
enough for my needs. The liteons are multi write (DVD +/- R/RW and the
latest ones play Divx and can record on Dual Layer disks. If your
feeling greedy there's a new 250Gb version too.
Can't comment on the samsung but in Value for money stakes the Liteon
has my vote
