I am looking for a plasma hdtv for a room.
The room is approx. 165" x 230" (13.5' x 19.2')
On one wide wall is a picture window, centered; on the opposite
wide wall is a double pocket door, 6' wide, slightly off center.
On the other two sides are one conventional window each, one
window opening to a narrow entranceway. Most likely,
a long couch will be in front of the picture window
and there will be an accompanying long coffeetable in front
of the couch. Smaller easily movable chairs will be scattered
about the remainder of the room.
I am proposing to put the plasma hdtv in front of the
latter window (on a narrower wall, in front of or slightly
to one side of the window opening to a narrow entranceway).
I am proposing that the plasma hdtv be placed on a freestanding
floor mount, so that it can be moved around anywhere
(even to larger rooms outside this room) at will.
Any recommendations for what the optimal size
for such a plasma display should be, or what bounds
could be placed on the maximum size of such a display,
for shopping purposes? I imagine that the two
competing sizes in this case are 40", 42", and 50"
(60" seems to me too large for the room). I am specifically
concerned that although a 50" display may seem attractive,
it might just be too big for a room this size.
Thanks...
