Hello group,
I hope this is not an off topic question. If it is, feel free to point
me to a newsgroup
that is better suited.
Background: I want to turn my (extensive) music collection into MP3s.
I experimented a little bit with Itunes, MediaMonkey, QCD, WinAmp
a.s.o,
but there doesn´t seem to be one, that includes all the following:
1. Song names from freedb/cddb
2. autotagging at least with Genre, Album and artist
3. cataloguing features: By this I mean the following:
* Burn Songs X1, X2, X3 on CD1, Burn Y1, Y2, Y3 on CD 2
* select X2 in the player and get prompted "Please insert CD 1"
So...
1. Is there such a beast, or is it just a misconception that the ones I
have tried don´t have these features?
2. Would you reccommend any further mandatory features for a player for
an extensive collection (or forbidden ones for some reason: I heard a
rumor that Itunes on Windows is using an MP3 encoder that is thought to
be not so good) ?
Please excuse if these are commonplace question. I am relatively new to
the field of MP3. I would welcome any info on this, including links to
sites where I can search for myself.
Thank you very much in advance,
Cheers.
FK.
