I certainly can't realize something that isn't true!
AAC is a *lossy* format, meaning whenever you convert something to AAC,
you lose some sound quality. Whether or not its noticeable depends on
who's listening, but there's definitely a loss.

And yet they still get the job done remarkably well. And they're a hell
of a lot more common that AAC.
