I used a GoVideo dual deck VCR player/recorder for several years and now
have a Panasonic dual deck DVD/VHS player/recorder (model #DMR-E75V). The
technology for DVDs is clearly superior to VHS. However, I found the dual
deck VCR to be much more versatile and could do many things with it that I
cannot do with the DVD/VHS. I am hoping that there may be away around these
issues and that someone here can give me some information.
Here is what I *greatly miss* when I used DVD instead of VCR:
(1) When editing VCR and camcorder tapes, I could use the GoVideo to include
cuts at any location I wanted and could set up scenes with as many as 8
different positions (not necessarily in the same order) which would then
automaticaly be correctly copied to Deck 2.
(2) If I wanted to keep part of a VCR tape but not all of it, I could copy
on top of the old tape, starting at the location I did not want to keep.
I have not been able to do these things with the dual deck DVD/VCR. Have I
just missed on how this is done, or is DVD really that inflexible?
Thanks,
MaryL
