Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ADDRESS UNKNOWN, CAREER GIRLS,
CHOPPERTOWN: THE SINNERS, THE DARK, THE FAREWELL, I LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY
CAKES... AND MORE STORIES ABOUT FAMILIES, RIDE BEYOND VENGEANCE, THE
SIMIAN LINE, SMOKEOUT FESTIVAL PRESENTS: BODY COUNT, SWINDLED
(INCAUTOS), and YOU STUPID MAN:

ADDRESS UNKNOWN (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 75/100):
"Address Unknown takes every opportunity to smash us over the head with
the unpleasnt fact that the American military base is nearby, and that
the characters' lives are analogous to those of the dogs that they
abuse. After a while, it becomes tiring and no longer has the impact
that it should."

CAREER GIRLS (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 83/100):
"Unfortunately, Career Girls could easily be classified as 'Leigh-lite.'
As a matter of fact, one could assume that this film was the work of a
Leigh wannabe."

CHOPPERTOWN: THE SINNERS (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score
80/100):
"I personally have never ridden a chopper, so maybe I'm missing out on
one of life's greatest pleasures. But the other themes seen in
Choppertown: The Sinners, those of friendship, brotherhood, and
overcoming adversity are universal for all of us."

THE DARK (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 19/100):
"This film sucks...bad. It's largely a study in boredom where lifeless
characters do uninteresting things and a creature that's billed to be a
horrendous 'mutilator' merely succeeds in chewing up our time."

THE FAREWELL (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 75/100):
"Say the name Bertolt Brecht to a number of people and it is likely you
will get one singular response, if any -- 'Mack the Knife.' Thanks to
Bobby Darren and dozens of other nightclub crooners, this signature song
from the writer's classic Threepenny Opera (music by Kurt Weill) has
become an unlikely lounge lizard staple."

I LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY CAKES... AND MORE STORIES ABOUT FAMILIES (reviewed
by David Johnson, overall score 85/100):
"Three stories, plus a hefty bonus, comprise the selection for this
disc, and the illustration styles range from pan and scan over the
original book drawings to partial animation. What they all have in
common: the desire to make you well up with emotion as the sight of
families who love each other, no matter how poorly drawn their
teeth are."

RIDE BEYOND VENGEANCE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 69/100):
"Looking conspicuously like it was shot in between cast and crew breaks
from a show like Rawhide, everything about Ride Beyond Vengeance is
embarrassingly low-rent, from the unconvincing sets to the static
cinematography, the cameos by fading stars to Richard Markowitz's
lackluster musical score."

THE SIMIAN LINE (reviewed by Neal Masri, overall score 60/100):
"The Simian Line."

SMOKEOUT FESTIVAL PRESENTS: BODY COUNT (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 65/100):
"Even by the loose standards of quality in rap metal, Body Count's
musicianship is lacking at best, combining tired, rapid-fire riffs with
some of the most tasteless and unfortunate lyrics this side of Vanilla
Ice's 'Turtle Power.'"

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/bodycount.php

SWINDLED (INCAUTOS) (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score
80/100):
"This movie works, and it works so well that even if you know exactly
where it's going, you'll still have a hell of a lot of fun watching
it unfold."

YOU STUPID MAN (reviewed by Michael Rankins, overall score 65/100):
"Despite its unflattering title, You Stupid Man is not a stupid film.
Indeed, parts of it are rather clever, like director Brian Burns's use
of subtitles to convey what Owen and Nadine are thinking -- but not
saying -- as they part ways at the conclusion of their disastrous
first date."
