Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of COMPANY K, DUANE CARLISLE'S HOME
FITNESS FOR KIDS: GET UP AND MOVE!, LOVE HURTS / YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE,
RAMBO: S.A.V.A.G.E. ISLAND (VOLUME 3), RAMBO: UP IN ARMS (VOLUME 4),
RAMBO: FACE OF FREEDOM (VOLUME 6), THE SONGWRITERS: BURTON LANE AND
MITCHELL PARISH, THE SONGWRITERS: CHARLES STROUSE AND ARTHUR SCHWARTZ,
STILLWATER, TOTAL ROMANCE: INITIATION, TOTAL ROMANCE: ULTIMATE GAMES,
and WEST OF THE PECOS:

COMPANY K (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 81/100):
"It's not everyday that a film about World War I could be successfully
crafted out of promises and persistence, but thanks to William March
and his incredible book, Company K is a stirring salute to those who
fought in the War to end all Wars. How brave they were -- and sadly,
how wrong."

DUANE CARLISLE'S HOME FITNESS FOR KIDS: GET UP AND MOVE! (reviewed by
David Johnson, overall score 85/100):
"I don't know if it's enough to get your blob of a kid's cholesterol
down significantly, but it shouldn't be that steep a challenge and looks
kind of fun."

LOVE HURTS / YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE (reviewed by Patrick Bromley, overall
score 69/100):
"Love Hurts and You Can't Hurry Love. Or, in other words: Jeff
Daniels and Bridget Fonda -- Two Actors I Really Like in Two Movies I
Really Didn't."

RAMBO: S.A.V.A.G.E. ISLAND (VOLUME 3) (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 70/100):
"Lasting one 65-episode season in 1986, Rambo dispensed with the film's
pretenses of social commentary to do what cartoons in the '80s did best:
sell a line of action figures."

RAMBO: UP IN ARMS (VOLUME 4) (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 71/100):
"It's obvious just how much the show was inspired by the success of the
G.I. Joe animated show and accompanying toy empire. Forget about plots
and characters -- the entire purpose of the show was to turn this
shirtless, rocket launcher-toting symbol of American might into a four-
inch plastic doll."

RAMBO: FACE OF FREEDOM (VOLUME 6) (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 71/100):
"It's not surprising that death and disaster is downplayed in a kid's
show, but it also removes all possibilities for suspense -- we know that
Warhawk will do something bad, Rambo will arrive and some vehicles will
blow up, and the bad guys will miraculously get away after being soundly
defeated. Stripped of all the angst and excitement from the films, this
Rambo is definitely lame-o."

THE SONGWRITERS: BURTON LANE AND MITCHELL PARISH (reviewed by Bryan
Pope, overall score 70/100):
"Some people just love Broadway and film musicals. But others looooove
them. I'm talking about the people who read Playbill online, have been
in the audience for every Lanie Kazan cabaret performance, and know the
names of all seven Pontipee brothers in order from oldest to youngest.
If this sounds like you, then pay attention. The Songwriters series of
DVDs right up your alley. Just not this edition."

THE SONGWRITERS: CHARLES STROUSE AND ARTHUR SCHWARTZ (reviewed by Bryan
Pope, overall score 85/100):
"Strouse's program is the better of the two, largely because he has an
impressive array of crowd-pleasing shows from which to draw."

STILLWATER (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 73/100):
"It's disappointing when a film's trailer winds up being better than the
feature it touts. It's aggravating, then, when a film's tagline is the
only redeeming element of the entire production. Such is the case with
Stillwater, an ambitious yet inept attempt to explore themes of
isolation, abandonment, and a string of serial murders."

TOTAL ROMANCE: INITIATION (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 75/100):
"The plot is a skeletal framework on which to hang lots and lots
of flesh."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/totalromanceinitiation.php

TOTAL ROMANCE: ULTIMATE GAMES (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 75/100):
"We can do it at night! We can do it all day! We can do it in the tub!
And on the bidet!"

WEST OF THE PECOS (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 73/100):
"This is yet another hackneyed tale that requires a healthy suspension
of disbelief, as grizzled trail rider Pecos Smith is unable to discern
the difference between a duded-up cowboy and a prim, proper lady who has
unconvincingly shoving her generous tresses underneath a Stetson."
