Don't be ridiculous. How would this make a difference? The market for
bootlegs doesn't care about *why* a film doesn't have a legit release,
only that it doesn't. The movie is already being bootlegged to death.
My point is that the one thing Disney prizes above all else is their
image. If they had the following two possible explanations for why
they didn't release SOTS on DVD:
(1) We wish we could accomodate the films fans, but it's completely
out of our reasons. We are, for legal reasons, unable to release SOTS
on DVD.
(2) We can release SOTS on DVD but choose not to do so, because a lot
of people would complain, and it would make us look bad.
Which do you think would be the more face-saving explanation?
