So you weren't really adding to the conversation, just making a point
that has nothing to do with anything. This happened to me before too,
except I wouldn't sit there and go 'boy oh boy, if you have the cable
turned off, they'll keep it on for you long after you stop paying."
It's a mistake made by the cable company, and a common one. Had you
told them about it they would hav e turned it off faster than you can
recite one your predictable responses. BTW, I did tell them it was
still on when that happened to me.
