I have several dozen PAL (Region 2) DVDs here. My Philips 642 plays
them without any problem to a 20 year old TV set.
The PAL VHS is trickier - you have to have a multistandard VHS player to
play (or transfer) them here in NTSC land. Suggest you transfer them to
DVD in your home country and just send them.
