FWIW, I saw a live performance of "Chorus Line" once, and there was an
array of shotgun mikes - actually, they looked like those EV ones -
about 8 or 10 or 12 of them, along the edge of the stage, mic'ing the
whole stage, and they worked quite well. They were low to the stage,
and black, so they were very unobtrusive - I wouldn't have noticed them
if I wasn't looking for electronics - I could tell by the sound that
they were all mic'd. But, I forgot all about electronics when that gal
sang "Tits and Ass". ;-P
