Well first off it could be a dual layer disc so it could be 9gb..

In Divx you could probably fit all the films on it in pretty good quality -
but bearing in mind all the SW films are over 2 hours its unlikely in good
quality.

They might be VCD or SVCD files on a DVD disc - which is possible space wise
I think but quality will be worse than DVD (tho probably better than VHS and
certainly acceptable - maybe your friend doesnt appreciate the quality of
DVD!)
