I built it around 1972-73 while I was at Dickson Electronics
(hybrids)... to listen to striking teachers picketing the elementary
school about 100 yards from my house ;-)
(I substitute-taught math during the strike, but that's a whole
'nother story :-)
I used 1/2" PVC for the tubes. I don't know what became of it. I
probably gave it away.
I often wondered if the ideal solution would be an individual
tight-fitting microphone per tube, combined in a summing amplifier;
but I never tried it.
