IIRC the phono audio sockets on the Sky digibox is stereo output, so that's
a waste of time. All the audio from the Philips DVD player will come via the
scart.

It'll have a built-in 5.1 decoder then. Those outputs are to go to a
receiver with 6 channel input, or a subwoofer that has an amp to then feed
the speakers (I had a Bush DVD2004 that came with a speaker setup like
that) - they are line level outputs, so you can't just connect speakers to
them.

Scart normally will, but only if you have the Yamada set to downmix to
stereo. Check the setup menus.

Get a receiver with 6ch input. Connect 6ch output from Yamada to the
receiver, connect scart to the Sky box VCR scart (it has RGB pass through).
Connect Sky scart to the TV scart that has RGB (normally AV1). Connect audio
out from Sky box to the receiver. Doing this you'll get RGB watching Sky or
DVD, and audio in 5.1 from the DVD and Pro-Logic/PL2 (or whatever the
receiver supports) for the Sky audio.
