That 'SUPER' software is just another front end for the open source
ffmpeg and mencoder tools. All free video format conversion programs are,
once you scratch the surface. I don't think anyone else has reverse
engineered the various Quicktime format's codecs.
There's a number of OSX shells for ffmpeg. One called ffmpegx here:

Not tried the OSX port myself, but ffmpeg is a very useful tool on Linux
for video format conversions.
ffmpeg -i input.avi -f mov output.mov
works for me..... Should be the same on OSX.
