Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE COMEBACK, EDEN'S BOWY
COLLECTION, GANKUTSUOU: THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, CHAPTER 3, GREENAWAY:
THE EARLY FILMS, THE LAST AMERICAN HERO, LOVE ME TENDER, MODERN ROMANCE,
ORCHESTRA WIVES, RED HOT + BLUE, SAKURA DIARIES: LOVE AND KISSES (VOLUME
2), TRAVERS AND APPICE: LIVE AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES, and WILLY DEVILLE:
LIVE IN THE LOWLANDS:

THE COMEBACK (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 80/100):
"The Comeback is an unfortunately titled (sounds like a Disney live
action sports movie starring monkeys) but more-than-adequate helping of
old-school British slasher horror."

EDEN'S BOWY COLLECTION (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score
66/100):
"Believe it or not, critics don't sit down to watch something hoping to
loathe it. We'd rather watch something engaging and rave about it.
Eden's Bowy didn't give me that option."

GANKUTSUOU: THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, CHAPTER 3 (reviewed by James A.
Stewart, overall score 93/100):
"In Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo -- Chapter 3, the story begins
to move away from its original source by focusing on the offspring of
the noble conspirators Moncerf, Villefort, and Danglars."

GREENAWAY: THE EARLY FILMS (reviewed by Jesse Ataide, overall
score 92/100):
"The Falls is the type of film that I wish I possessed an amazing
interpretation and could subsequently provide a brilliant analysis of,
but quite frankly I was just as baffled watching this film as you're
likely to be while watching it."

THE LAST AMERICAN HERO (reviewed by Dan Mancini, overall score 90/100):
"The Last American Hero is like an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard writ
large. And I mean that in a good way."

LOVE ME TENDER (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 86/100):
"Love Me Tender is not a musical, so Presley sings on the porch and at
a county fair. Yet this is where the whole 'Elvis as a movie star'
craze begins."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/lovemetender.php

MODERN ROMANCE (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall score 89/100):
"Modern Romance (a funny title considering its age) is not Brooks's best
film, but it is one of his funniest. Those who have ever weathered the
world of relationships will immediately relate to Robert's struggles
with finding, keeping, and then losing the woman of his dreams."

ORCHESTRA WIVES (reviewed by Steve Evans, overall score 79/100):
"Great music, nice image, clean sound, average film."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/orchestrawives.php

RED HOT + BLUE (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 78/100):
"So, can popular music be used to deliver an important message, or does
it always end up this hammy?"

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/redhotblue.php

SAKURA DIARIES: LOVE AND KISSES (VOLUME 2) (reviewed by Adam Arseneau,
overall score 92/100):
"Volume Two of Sakura Diaries trades some of the fan service in for more
laughs and more meaningful, heartwarming moments. I'd be lying if I said
I didn't enjoy the, ah, titillating aspects of the previous volume, but
the benefits in Sakura Diaries, Vol. 2: Love & Kisses far outweigh
the slight drop in nakedness."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/sakuradiariesvol2.php

TRAVERS AND APPICE: LIVE AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES (reviewed by Paul Corupe,
overall score 82/100):
"Travers and Appice still have a fetish for insistent 1970s blues
rock, with big beats and thick guitar punctuated by wanky solos. But
the playing is unexpectedly raw and edgy, and their sound is
consistently fresh."

FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/traversappice.php

WILLY DEVILLE: LIVE IN THE LOWLANDS (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
score 88/100):
"More rockabilly and R&B than heavy hardcore harangue, this well-
meaning musician had the hard luck of arriving just as punk put the New
York scene on its ear. Since he wasn't referencing the revered New York
Dolls, and didn't mutate his love of '50s finesse into the Ramones style
of pop slash and burn, DeVille ended up struggling...a regarded entity
without the genre influence to guarantee his legitimate legacy."
