Its a personal thing I guess as has been said before. So here are my
thoughts
Peter Kay - Brilliant in Phoenix Nights and The Peter Kay Thing. However
the stand up was awful and he just kept on going on about his Mum and
repeating endlessly "Whats that all about"
Which reminds me of what I consider to be the worst of them all - Dave
Spikey - Great in Phoenix Nights BUT, how I cringe when I see him trying to
tell jokes on those quiz type (8 out of 10) shows etc - good job for canned
laughter.
Ricky Gervais - Like his Interview show (forgets name of it) also liked The
Office esp the IT guy episode. RG's Stand up for me does nothing, not even
a titter. As for Extras could not really get "into it" and so lost
interest.
Billy Connolly - Very funny in the way that u are never quite sure of where
he is going to go next when he is delivering his act - and he does throw in
the extra ad-libs. Much more of a random/dangerous kind of gig.
Bill Bailey - Not always liked him, but loved the Part Troll gig - esp the
"Argos" gag.
Jasper Carrot - could be good but normally just too predictable for me.
Sean Lock - I have recently discovered and found to be fairly amusing.
Saving the best for last though is Boris Johnson on HIGNFY - classic
everytime - no script required ;)
