Standard is able to save forms using FDF, scroll down to "Acrobat Standard
capabilities". Professional is only required if you want to actually create
the forms. If the form creators had any sense they'd create rights-enabled
forms which can be saved in Acrobat Reader, rather than forcing their
clients to buy the Acrobat Standard software just to do this.
And you'll need the full version - the upgrade is if you own an older
version of Standard already. As you don't, the Upgrade version won't
install.
