Yes, I have to agree that Lord of War was the most annoying start-up
I've ever encountered.

Really? That's odd. I could skip at least some of the crap with my
player. The anti-piracy ad was fast-forwardable, the trailers were
skippable (albeit seperately, so I had to hit the "next chapter"
button each time). Same goes for the QVC type public service
announcement.
The copyright screens and the Momentum Pictures logo were completely
unskippable though. And while I would only have been somewhat annoyed
at all of it, this is what finally pissed me off: The same goes for
the Mars bar commercial! Completely unskippable. I paid 12 quid to
have a Mars commercial forced down my throat every time I play the
damn disc. This is just unacceptable.
Note, that Alliance Atlantis pulled the same crap with a car
commercial on the Canadian region 1 release of "Finding Neverland"
(The US R1 release was fine, apparently). I don't know if they ever
tried it again, because it was the last Alliance Atlantis DVD I ever
purchased.
