Please define what you mean by long term, commercial.
Are you talking about archiving and storage or heavy repeated play
useage of a disc?
If it is archival my medai supplier tells me that they do have higher
quality discs that should have longer life but do you really need to
store anything much longer than 10 years anyway? The industry will
certainly change by then and you will need to be thinking about other
media.
I am using blank media from Tayo Yuden (not sure of the spelling) and
I am experiencing very few problems with them. This particular company
does have different quality levels of their media.
I don't know where you are located but I am in Northern CA and my
supplier is National Videotape Co. I have been buying all my blank
media from them for many years and they are an excellent Co. (No they
didn't pay me for this plug ;-))
