Actually, blu-ray promises more than just "special menus and features".
As I noted above, Blu-ray (and not HDDVD) will allow people to:
1. download additional content such as more subtitles or captions at
any time.
2. do chat sessions with their friends or the director while watching a
movie.
3. download games related to the movie and play them on the blu-ray.
4. download current previews and trailers
5. shop online, including securely paying for the items.
6. see different skinned versions of the movie DVD
There are already calls going out to Java developers to work on new
content for the blu-ray!
