1st, i don't see this happening for a LOOOOONG time. How long ago did
they stop making VHS tapes?
2nd, i would LMAO if some studio tried to force the issue by releasing
on HD only. Imagine Peter Jackson's THE HOBBIT or Pixar's THE
INCREDIBLES 2 released in BR/HD-DVD only. The mainstream public would
go ballistic, but still wouldn't pony up the $500 for aplayer and the
units sold would be on the order of 10s of thousands instead of the
tens of millions (did i read correctly that KING KONG sold 20M units
the first week?).
