Every Sony product I have ever bought has had some kind of major failure
within 60 days of warranty expiry - unusual for electronics, which will
typically fail within the first 90 days or last for years.
These products have incuded 2 Walkmans - casette and CD - a tv, and a
mini-disc player. When managing IT for a company I worked for a few years
ago, they used Sony laptops when I arrived. We had so much trouble, I moved
them to Toshiba and our support issues were cut by more than half.
Screw their reputation, there is a reason Samsung is passing them.
The trust people place in them is based on history. Current reality is an
over-priced product that does not deliver better than average performance,
at best.
