I actually read the specs on Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Blu-ray is technically a
superior format. The higher data bandwidth allows for full HD pass thru in
combination with fully uncompressed HD audio which is something that HD-DVD
specs don't allow for due to some limitation in the bandwidth. As well, the
storage capacity, while both allow for the movies, the audio must be more
compressed in HD-DVD.

How will that play out down the road? Well, as you said, and I agree with
completely - let's see where thing are in 6 months. But, there are
technically specific reasons why Blu-ray looks better on paper. Plus, throw
in a huge majority of studio support which plays out a bit for those who
actually want some specific movies from some manufacturers and that will
steer some towards specific camps.

Me? I think they are both to darn expensive, but I will get a PS3 and have
Blu-ray, so I am for that.
