Hello. I was just wondering if anybody knows of a personal MP3 player
that works with regular old Windows 98 that has at least 1GB of
(preferably built-in) storage? I ordered one online the other week only
to find out after I received it that it would only work with Windows
2000. No driver or anything to get 98 to recognize it. Had to get a
refund. Then, went to Circuit City and asked the question I'm asking
here now and the young man helping me out said all the ones they sell
only work with Win 2000. He said it had something to do with the port.
I really don't understand this stuff. I bought my wife one about a year
ago that works with 98, but the built in storage was very small and I
think the highest external storage you can go up to is 512MB. The
reason I want at least 1GB is because I want to start listening to my
favorite 3 hour radio program on MP3 (they let you download the show to
MP3 format, including archives) and I want to be able to put like a
week's worth of shows on there at a time. It would be too much of a
pain to erase and download one show daily. Thank you!
