Well, you have a few possibilities I think. First, why restrict it to
built-in storage? I also record a radio show but I put it onto SD-cards.
That way I can listen to it either on my mp3 player that takes sd-cards or
my iPaq or my PC or my laptop whichever happens to be more convenient. It's
far easier to pop an SD-card in and out than transfer files to various
machines or always rely on your mp3 player alone. Obviously, as long as you
have a card reader that will work on WIN98 - common enough - you are all
set.
Another possibility is to shrink your files. If you are recording talk
radio, you can get by with a low mp3 bit rate that should allow you to fit a
lot in a small space. The show I record winds up taking about 10 MB per
hour. There are programs that will shrink your mp3's fairly easily - I have
used the free version of switch http://nch.com.au/switch/index.html
