You have the manual; I don't.

However, when you say "play through one or the other input line", I
wonder if you mean output or input... You can't input on an output or
output on an input, of course.

So, assuming you mean input on one of the available inputs: In some
devices, you press the "Source" or "Input" button on the remote. In
others, you go to the lowest antenna channel, 2, and then press channel
down until you see what you want. Yet others require you to go to a
menu.

If you mean output on one of the available outputs: they should all be
live all the time. However, AFAIK most DVDRs do not play DVDs through
the RF (antenna) output.
