Unless you see a big need to do a lot of this, then buying any
analog deck right now is questionable. You may be hard pressed
to get enough work out of a Betacam deck to pay for it.
As for the $200 DV camera. That sounds too cheap to be worth much.
DV is DV up to a point, when it comes to dumping from the computer
to a DV deck. However I would not expect the analog output from such
a cheap deck to be worthy .of dumping video or audio to Betacam.
You could dump your video from the computer ($200 deck might be OK)
and then take the DV tape to another facility to do the transfer.
If quality matters, then you want the analog step to be full component,
not just Y/C (S-video) from a $200 camera.
For the price of a UVW-1800 you should be able to make a lot of dubs
at a professional facility.
