If you're shooting a live performance in concert don't try to sync it
to studio-recorded music. If you're shooting a music video, have the
band play to on-set playback of their pre-recorded music. Everyone
except the drummer just mimes. The drummer actually needs to hit the
things to look convincing, even if you're not recording the sounds at
the time.
