I'd say heaven help us. I will stick my neck out and say categorically
that MPEG2 compression of the style required to make playable DVD
video discs will NEVER approach the quality of DV and will never
be a suitable production format. It is OK for most people as an end-
state release format only. This is not a subjective statement. It is
based on the *fundamental* nature of MP2 temporal compression.
As the old saying goes: You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
