This is - - in my mind, anyway - - the true beauty of DV. It travels
well, the tapes are available in EVERY spithole third-world country, and
it's cheap, almost to the point of being throw-away.

I agree. The problem in my world is that there are a whole host of new
producers who came up in the DV world, who don't _know_ anything else,
and who are becoming increasingly successful at making the customer base
believe that DV is all that's out there.
It's a tool, like any other camera or format. Useful for some things, not
for others.
