With millions of people switching really fast to other formats like PVRs
and DVRs.. My guess is that VHS formats will be dead in less than a
year. It may "work" yes, but not for long as you'll have a shelf full
of great quality VHS tapes in which you can't play.

I'm sorry, I seem to be totally confused here.. You walk into a store
like CompUSA, you pick out the first external DVD-RW/R you find, you
walk up to the counter and they give you 2 prices??? One for if you
have a Mac, and another if you say you have a PC?? My suggestion would
be to say you have a PC then, if the price is cheaper if you say you
have a PC.

Here's a nice external on newegg:

Why does everyone who has shitty equipment, watch that shitty VCR tape,
thought that old shitty TV set, and then proclaim, "It looks good to me".

Try this test.. Go get a VCR, plug it into a HDTV at least 1080i, and
then see how good it looks.. It will become very painfully obvious on
how crappy that picture looks, when you use proper tools in which to
judge these things by.

Richard, is NOT trying to sell you something. He's 100% correct in
saying that currently DVD is the highest customer standard in which you
can distribute your videos on. Is there better? Sure, but its
something that's coming still, and certainly not ready for prime time yet.
