Specs-
Thanks for the info on the HVX. The real choice, at this opoint, is
the FX1/Z1 vs. the xlh1.
Mark-
I think there's another issue with the FX1 vs. Z1. It relates to down
converting on the fly, and I'm still not clear. I have a couple of
Firestore FS-4's, and I shot some hdv stuff onthe Z1 , capturing to the
fs4. Apparantly, you can simultaneously record hdv to tape , and
capture sd to the FS 4 (assuming you're going to edit in sd). From what
I've read, the FX1 can't do that.
I don't want to buy the FX1 if I'm going to have work flow problems
later.(We edit in PPRO 2.o)
here's something I'm still confused about-
1- Let's say I want to shoot in hdv, but edit in sd 4:3, still
capturing on th FS4. Is this possible, even with the Z1?
2- If the ultimate project were to be in 4:3, 16:9,sd would I have to
down convert? Can't I just edit in HD, and export to sd dvd?
Thanks
